Although we have experienced an abnormally warm start to fall, the Farmer’s Almanac is warning us to prepare for an extremely brutal winter.

Cold winters are something that we do not experience all to often here in Nashville, but when we do it can bring with it a whole host of issues. One of the issues that is often over looked is frozen and busted pipes.

Three tips to decrease your chance of frozen and busted pipes:

1. Ensure you have proper insulation
2. Keep a steady drip of water during frigid nights
3. Maintain a warm climate within your home

These three steps you will help you to eliminate the risk of having a frozen or busted pipe. Frozen or busted pipes can cause significant damage, so precautionary steps are highly encouraged.
